BİLGİ Trauma provides psychosocial support for people affected by Coronavirus pandemic in KORDEP

BİLGİ Trauma and Disaster Mental Health Master Program is included among the stakeholders of KORDEP (Online Mental Health Program for Coronavirus Infection), launched under the leadership of İstanbul Provincial Health Directorate with the authorization by İstanbul Provincial Pandemic Board.

KORDEP is a psychological support hotline which offers help for people affected by Coronavirus in İstanbul who are under medical treatment, lost their relatives, healthcare professionals working under extraordinary conditions, the elderly living alone, disabled individuals and immigrants. 

Students and alumni of BİLGİ Trauma and Disaster Mental Health Master Program provide mental and psychological support to individuals reaching KORDEP via call-center to get help. 

Counseling service up to 8 sessions, psychiatric treatment or long-term psychotherapy are offered to affected individuals who are in the risk groups of Coronavirus pandemic (people diagnosed with Covid-19, individuals who lost their relatives, healthcare professionals etc.)

Psychological first-aid is provided with priority for individuals who are not in the risk group but experiencing anxiety, fear, intolerance, insomnia, lack of concentration, low mood, unhappiness in significant or lower levels. These people can get psychiatric treatment and long-term psychotherapy if it is deemed necessary.

KORDEP professionals are available between 10:00 and 19:00 on weekdays and Saturdays at toll-free 0850 305 00 34.
