The project to be started in February 2020 and planned to last for 3 three years will carry out case studies in 13 regions of Europe that will examine the local impacts of the immigration on rural and mountain regions. These studies will cover the different governance models and diverse policy fields, spanning education and life-long learning, immigrants’ labor integration, health, mobility and equality. The case studies of the project in Turkey will be carried in Silivri and Çatalca districts of İstanbul where agricultural production is maintained. MATILDE case studies will examine the social, economic and cultural impacts of immigration in these districts. The project will also explore how the regulatory amendments impact the working life of immigrants who live in these regions. During this process, İstanbul Bilgi University will collaborate with Support to Life Association, the other counterpart of the project in Turkey.
