Dr. Hasret Dikici Bilgin elected on the Board of IPSA.
Dr. Hasret Dikici Bilgin, member of İstanbul Bilgi University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, International Relations Department, has been elected on the Board of Directors of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), one of the longest-established and reputable organizations of the field. Dr. Dikici Bilgin has also been appointed as program co-chair of the World Congress of Political Science to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 25-29 July 2020.
Established in Paris in 1949 under the auspices of the UNESCO, IPSA has around 3,000 members from 53 countries, and is known as one of the most extensive and reputable professional organizations in the field of political science.
Hasret Dikici Bilgin obtained her undergraduate degree in international relations from the Middle East Technical University, her master’s degree in sociology from the same university, and her PhD in political science from Sabancı University. Her research interests include comparative political institutions and the political elite, with a special emphasis on political parties and elections. Dikici Bilgin is one of the editors of the book “Comparative Politics: Fundamental Issues and Approaches”, which received TÜBA’s (Turkish Academy of Sciences) Scientific Work Award in 2014.
