The project titled “Civil Society and Social Movements in Times of Crisis in Turkey: Earthquakes and Women's Mobilization " led by Assoc. Prof. Büke Boşnak, has received support from TÜBİTAK

The project titled "Civil Society and Social Movements in Times of Crisis in Turkey: Earthquakes and Women's Mobilization," submitted by Assoc. Prof. Büke Boşnak from BİLGİ Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of International Relations as Principal Investigator has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 3501 Career Development Program. Prof. Pınar Uyan Semerci from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of International Relations will serve as a consultant in the project.
The aim of this project is to examine the mobilisation processes of the women's movement and women's organisations in times of crisis through the example of an earthquake in Turkey. The main objective of the project is to analyse the effects of crises on civic space in depth, to reveal how the women's movement and women's organisations mobilise in times of crisis, and to contribute to the development of crisis policies based on civic participation by identifying good examples. In this regard, comprehensive and empirical analyses will be conducted in the light of the data to be obtained from the field, and feasible policy recommendations will be developed from the perspective of crisis governance and gender equality.
