Prof. Ayhan Kaya was elected as an international fellow of the British Academy
Professor of the International Relations Department of our university and Director of the European Union Institute, Prof. Ayhan Kaya was elected as an international fellow of the British Academy, the official body of the United Kingdom operating in the field of social sciences and humanities.
The British Academy, where the world's leading scientists are elected, has been encouraging academic studies in the field of social sciences and humanities since its establishment in 1902, and aims to apply the findings of these studies for the public good and social welfare. The British Academy, which elects its international fellows from among scientists who have achieved high international reputation with their studies in the field of social sciences and humanities, has more than 400 international fellows and 1700 fellows in total.
52 of the fellows elected to the British Academy in 2024 were elected from 21 universities across the United Kingdom, while 30 were elected from universities in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Japan, China, Australia, Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey and Israel. Prof. Ayhan Kaya became the only scientist from Turkey to be elected as a member of the academy in 2024.
