BİLGİ Department of Media faculty member and Advisor to the Rector Prof. Itır Erhart received 2022 Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award with ‘Adım Adım’ as one of its co-founders

BİLGİ Department of Media faculty member and Advisor to the Rector Prof. Itır Erhart received 2022 Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award with ‘Adım Adım’ (Step by Step) as one of its founders.  Adım Adım has been a source of inspiration for social solidarity by mobilizing individuals and institutions through sports by organizing charity runs.

Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award Jury granted the prize to Adım Adım, which has created a positive impact on people with its focus on sports and ‘charity’ that it prioritizes, on the basis of the values that constitute its foundational philosophy such as togetherness, achieving together, forming a team spirit, giving prominence to charitableness, and strengthening friendship.

Having supported civil society organizations active in many different fields since its foundation in 2008, Adım Adım has been granted the award also on the basis of encouraging people and society to engage in sports starting from the individuals with the aim of ‘Running After Goodness’ and establishing İyilik Peşinde Koş, a digital charity running platform that can be used by the volunteers who would like to participate.

‘Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award’ has been granted since 2017 in commemoration of Mustafa V. Koç who believed in the unifying and transformative power of sports and regarded sports as an integral part of a society’s development, and to sustain his vision in this field.

In the award ceremony held on November 1, 2022, Prof. Itır Erhart and İ. Renay Onur received Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award on behalf of Adım Adım as co-founders of this social enterprise.
