“COVID-19, Sports and Gender Equality: The Opportunity in the Middle of the Crisis” panel was held with the collaboration of BİLGİ Sports Management Department and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Turkey. Hosting Bahar Toksoy Guidetti, national volleyball player, Didem Karagenç, national basketball player and UNDP Gender Equality Expert Aslı Çoban as speakers.

Toksoy Guidetti and Karagenç talked about what should be changed for gender equality in sports industry in a post-pandemic world and evaluated the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on sports industry.

The panel’s moderator İlknur Hacısoftaoğlu, PhD Faculty Member of BİLGİ Sports Management Department, underlined the necessity for people working for gender equality in the field of sports, government agencies and different agencies of the United Nations, including UNDP, to work in cooperation. As BİLGİ Sports Management Department, Hacısoftaoğlu stated that they will always support such efforts.
