Speaker: Dr. Philipp Paech (London School of Economics)
Date: November 15, 2013
Time: 16.00-17.30
Place: Dolapdere Campus, Board of Trustees Meeting Room
Information on the Lecture:
The lecture addresses the issue of modern electronic holding and transfer of securities. The fact that nowadays there are not any more paper certificates for securities fundamentally changes the legal position of the investor.
Everybody could lose securities in the system, just because of an operational mistake which is not appropriately remedied by the commercial and insolvency law.
Dr. Philipp Paech is a faulty member at London School of Economics, Department of Law and specialises in the field of international financial markets law and regulation. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for Law and Finance in Frankfurt and was a Visiting Associate Professor at Tokyo University’s Graduate School for Law and Politics.
