Oral and Dental Health technicians are healthcare professionals who can work in dental offices, public or private oral and dental health polyclinics, oral and dental health centers, and institutions providing services in the field of oral and dental health. They prepare the examination and treatment environment required for the clinical procedures carried out by dentists, assist dentists during preventive and therapeutic oral and dental health practices, and take responsibility in patient admission processes.

As an important part of the four-handed dentistry approach, Oral and Dental Health technicians contribute to the regular, safe, and efficient flow of clinical practice. They work alongside dentists in many procedures, including preventive practices, fillings, root canal treatments, dental scaling, and tooth extractions. With the increasing use of digital dentistry applications, it has also become important to train technicians who can adapt to technological developments and follow current practices in the field.

According to the 2024 health statistics of the Ministry of Health, more than 50,000 dentists are employed in the public sector, universities, and the private sector in Türkiye. The widespread provision of dental services and the team-based nature of clinical processes make Oral and Dental Health technicians important members of this professional field.

Graduates of the Oral and Dental Health Program can work in all units where dentists practice. They may also be employed by many companies operating in the oral and dental health sector.

Four-year undergraduate programs that graduates may transfer to through DGS (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı / Vertical Transfer Exam) include Health Administration, Health Institutions Management, Health Institutions Administration, Health Management, and Nursing programs offered by various universities.

The language of instruction is Turkish.
