Program Structure

The BİLGİ Advertising Department has a flexible structure that blends theory with current practice, preparing students to become versatile, well-equipped professionals for the rapidly changing communications industry. In the first half of the four-year program, students receive foundational training across a broad range of areas, from the sociological and cultural foundations of communication to visual design, and from consumer behavior to brand strategy. The aim during this period is for students to develop their critical thinking skills, grasp the fundamental framework of advertising, and discover their own professional direction in areas such as strategy, creativity, or marketing.

The second half of the program focuses on deeper specialization, digital transformation, and industry applications. Thanks to the department's rich pool of elective courses, students have the opportunity to specialize in contemporary areas such as strategy, content production, digital campaign management, artificial intelligence, digital tool use, and sustainability communication. At the same time, in workshops led by academics who are also industry professionals, theoretical knowledge is put into practice through real briefs, with the goal of helping students build strong portfolios featuring the competencies the industry requires throughout their time at university.

By their final year, students take part in a full-scale industry simulation through the “MarCom” project, in which they set up their own agencies and develop end-to-end campaigns, from research to media planning, for real brands. For their graduation project, students pursue either entrepreneurship or academic work, depending on their career goals, and, thanks to a flexible educational model that draws on multiple disciplines, they step into the business world as the kind of communicators the industry demands.
