Guest students
Guest Students are those who wish to attend BİLGİ for either one semester or a full academic year without enrolling in any degree program. In order to be a Guest Student at BİLGİ, this university and the applicant's home institution must have signed an agreement of mutual recognition.
To apply for a special student status, you must be registered to a university. From our web page, www.bilgi.edu.tr , you can read the curriculum and course descriptions of the courses and decide which ones you want to apply for. Be careful that, the courses are given in termly based in İstanbul Bilgi University. First term courses are not given in second semester and vice versa. And pay attention, if the course is recommended for international students or not. You can find the information under the course descriptions.
Documents required for application

- Petition
- 2 transcripts
- 2 passport size pictures
- Copy of your passport pages
You should take an official letter from your home university stating that ‘your home university accepts your application to BİLGİ and will transfer the past courses to your home credits’.
In the time of application; in addition to the above documents, you must write a petition asking to study as a special student, adding the detail of which courses you want to take, their codes, names, which term they are given and so on...
You can apply to take some courses and at the end of successful completion of the course, you can take a transcript showing the names of the courses and grades. The important point is that, we advise you to check with your university, if the courses you take here will be accepted by your home university.
Application Dates:
In conditions when visa is needed, applications must have been completed a month before the semester starts and the agreement decision must be made by the faculty.
The Evaluation Process
The evaluation is made by the faculty administrative board.
