Extracurricular Activities
Students enrolled in the History and Theory of Architecture Graduate Program have the opportunity to take part in various curricular and extracurricular activities such as excursions, workshops, summer schools and lecture series.
Excursions are a long-standing tradition in the program and many courses include educational trips to a variety of places such as; ancient sites in Anatolia, villages with vernacular heritages, cultural landscapes, cities and metropolises in Turkey and abroad. Extracurricular excursions are also organized during semester breaks and summers.
The program offers Summer Schools and Workshops that can be taken as part of the course-work or optional extracurricular activities. These summer schools and workshops are organized as interdisciplinary and international events in collaboration with other academic institutions and partners from the industry. AA Workshops and Datça Summer School are examples of these.
Mekan Konuşmaları is a Lecture Series organized by the graduate students of architecture programs and hosted more than 100 guests until today. The talks present a range of topics related to different architectural practices, art works, academic research and architectural education. In these events, students get the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations, broaden their perspectives and enhance their intellectual growth.
