Structure of the Program
İstanbul Bilgi University History MA Program is an interdisciplinary program that addresses Ottoman and Republican histories from an interdisciplinary perspective and within the framework of the most up-to-date academic approaches. The program examines economic, social, political, and cultural transformations from the early modern Ottoman period to the Republican period in the context of their relation to world history. The research subjects of the program’s academic staff include gender, law, globalization, medicine, environment and animals. The program addresses the chronological and thematic issues in historiography with students and aims to enable students to develop a critical approach. At the same time, students have the opportunity to closely experience different historiographical experiences with guest lecturers invited to the courses from universities in Türkiye and abroad.
